My quick checklist for reviewing a website that we are going to relaunch soon

Yesterday we had a meeting where we reviewed the tasks of the current sprint. There is a relevant block of tasks with the relaunch of a website. It is not just any website. It is the e-commerce of our main brand on Amazon. Amazon has started to give us the Amazon Choice for related product searches that contain the name of our brand. It is a good sign and one more reason to speed up this part given that the brand is starting to be relevant for some users.

To make sure that the website is ready, I have created this brief checklist without giving you any guarantee that it is a complete list.

Contents and pages

Here we should have the typical content switzerland whatsapp number data that any e-commerce should have because it also helps to build trust:

  • About us.
  • Contact
  • FAQs (payment methods, shipping times, returns, warranty, etc.)

The product pages are also content, obviously, but because of their importance I put them separately.

Titles that contain the main keywords at the SEO level.

  • Product variations.
  • Prices and shipping costs clearly visible.
  • Product descriptions.
  • Call to action buttons.

WhatsApp Data

Checkout and Contact (Conversion Pages)

Here you have to pay attention to both usability and legal aspects. Some questions.

  • Does the user have all the branding guide – how to design your logo information they need to move on to the next step in checkout (e.g. a list of all products and units visible to ensure they have made the right choice)?
  • Do all payment methods work (Paypal, card, bank transfer, etc.)?
  • Has a checkbox been included in the contact form that gives an error if the user does not click to confirm that the privacy policy has been read?
  • Does the user receive an email confirming their purchase?

Communication by e-mail

Here we must take into account the different possibilities of communicating with customers via email.

  • Purchase confirmation.
  • Purchase cancellation.
  • Return and refund in case of not being able to send a purchased product.
  • Confirmation of registration to the newsletter.
  • Optional: Product shipping notice, shipping preparation, etc.

Marketing and tracking

Here are more topics to consider in order data on to carry out marketing campaigns in the best possible way.

  • Analytics code implemented correctly (taking into account user cookie settings).
  • Complete, flawless RSS feed for Google Shopping campaigns.
  • Home has the right visual appearance to pass the approval filter for Google Ads.

That’s all I can think of right now. I may have left out some relevant things. Now let’s get testing.
